Careful observation is at the core of our drawing sessions. We work with living plants directly in the botanical garden while following all garden rules: no plant parts may be picked and no beds may be entered.
The illustration club is not a formal course, but an open meetup to draw together, exchange ideas, and learn from each other. No prior experience is required; curiosity is enough. We meet once a month with changing themes.
Materials and snacks are provided, so I ask for a small contribution. To register, email friederike.westrich[at]web.de. Afterwards you will receive details about meeting point and travel.
Hi, I'm Friede. I combine field botany with illustration, using fineliner and watercolor. My background is scientific: I studied landscape ecology in Muenster and completed my master's in botany in Innsbruck. I love details and scientifically accurate depictions of nature.
